RAV RT202 Suspension Tester
The RT202 is used to check the
condition and efficiency of suspension components such
as shock absorbers and springs with an automated adherence
(grip) test that takes only a few moments to complete.
The RT202 uses the EUSAMA method
of suspension testing.
(EUSAMA: European Shock
Absorber Manufacturers Association.)
The Test Procedure
1] The vehicle's wheels,
one axle at a time are driven onto the testing plates.
2] The static weigh of
each wheel is measured and recorded.
3] The adherence test
starts - this is a vibration test that forces the suspension
to rapidly compress and decompress to simulate poor
road surface conditions.
4] The dynamic weight
of the wheel is recorded. The dynamic weight is determined
by the amount of time the wheel looses contact with
the plate as it vibrates up and down.
5] The ability of the
suspension to maintain wheel to road surface contact
is displayed as a percentage value. This is calculated
by comparing the difference between the static weight
and lowest dynamic weight of the wheel.
Wheels can tested individually
or together on each axle in order to determine any difference
or imbalance in efficiency.
The RT202 can also be
supplied with or added at a later date to Ravaglioli Automated
Test Lanes and
Roller Brake
Testers.
